LIFE SCOUT BADGES

ROLLERCOASTER BADGE

I remember last 2011, the whole family and I went to an amusement park (Star City) in Manila. There were a few new rides that had just opened up and there was this particular one named "Star Flyer". It had two or three loops and it looked like this:

Needless to say, I felt like throwing up after riding it twice. I think. Or maybe it was thrice?

KARAOKE BADGE

Way back when I was still in Elementary and High school, I used to take up Singing lessons which required practicing frequently. So I remember having a Karaoke marathon every weekend at our house with my Mom and Aunts. Or going to the mall with my friends and spending time a Karaoke booth at an arcade.

So yeah.

CONCERT BADGE

My fangirl heart started in 2008. That was also the year I went to my first-ever concert and it was Fall Out Boy's. 2008 was a really innocent year for me so there were no pictures at all, just memories. (Thnks Fr Th  Mmrs) But I started going to concerts on my own in 2010, it was LIV3. I miss it so much.

And that completes the first part of my Life Scout Badge post!

xx

Existential Crisis/TL;DR Blog

This blog is basically for stories, complains and life realizations. It's quite fun to have one because I wanna look back to it and think, "damn, what a crazy mind I've got back then." So yeah.

Also, I shall start collecting Lifescout badges! Woooo!

The Quiet Place

Hello, good friends. Just thought I'd share this super cool and soothing place that I visit once in while to cry to.
We all have secrets we can't tell everyone, and sometimes those secrets kill us from the inside. Unfortunately, I'm one of the people who has those secrets. And this place just helps me so much in clearing my head of things that are meaningless.

The Quite Place Project is divided into three. The Quiet Place, 90 Seconds Relaxation Exercise and The Thoughts Room. (The last one's my favourite!)

I don't know if I should be showing these to you, but hey okay. Check it out.

Organic Chemistry and a lot of writing

Today, we officially began our class lecture in Biochemistry and we were all quite surprised to find out that we are about to begin our school year with Organic Chemistry first, then the branches of it.

By the end of the school year, I'm pretty sure my brain's about to get toasted or messed up in some way.

Here's some photos of our first few notes. Yay.
Holy crap.

2012 vs. 2013

I was trying to look for the perfect hand-draw illustration for my new blog banner when I stumbled upon an old drawing the I made last November, 2012. I posted it on the internet before in black and white since I had no idea how to colour things using Photoshop.

Then

Now.

I guess I can finally say that I've learned a lot over the past months.

Is it just me or is life really full of coincidences?

About a week ago, while my severe PJ Liguori phase was on the verge of getting worse, my head was just filled with so many comic ideas. I never tell anyone about it, really. But it seems like I really should tell someone (or something) about it, this time around.

You see a week ago, as I was trying to prepare myself for Uni, my mind was swimming across the ocean of unrealistic (but probably creative) ideas. I wrote about it on my iPod but unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot of it right now. Anyway, it was entitled "In Black & White" and was about a girl trapped in a world without colour (basically B&W). I was planning to turn it into an actual graphic novel when I finally learn how to draw using a pen tablet.

Okay, okay. Now to the point of this whole post. Kickthepj tweeted about a certain video coming up today, and well, you just have to see for yourself on how relevant my story is to it.

And don't forget to subscribe to kickthepj on Youtube! (Both I and him would appreciate it very much)

Biochemistry Mondays: Carbs and the Simian Crease

Hello, hello people of the internet! So, I have officially started my second year in College as a Clinical Psychology major!!! *pops confetti* and today we had Social Science 104, English 103, Biochemistry 101 and PE 104 (which never happened because our professor's extremely tardy and clueless all the frikken time!?)

Anyway, today was supposed to be just an orientation for us second year students with our professors but things went entirely different in Biochemistry 101. Our professor, had decided to start discussing with us our first few lectures in the subject and guess what we'll have in our next meeting?

I'll give you a clue: A quiz.

After discussing bits and pieces about the three kinds of Carbohydrates:

a) Monosaccharide
b) Disaccharide
c) Polysaccharide

We moved on to Lipids (fatty acids, energy reserve, etc.), then to Proteins (amino acids, normal body regulation, etc.), and lastly Nucleic Acid (Nucleo tides, DNA and RNA).

Before our class finally ended though, she asked us if anyone in the class had a straight line in the palm of their hands. And to my surprise, out of the 30+ (?) people in the classroom, I was the only one who raised her hand. So you can probably say that I was pretty damn anxious, worried and excited all at the same time.

It turns out that I have what they called the "Simian Palmer Crease". I only have it on my right hand though.

According to my professor, having a Simian Crease in one hand could mean that I might be a carrier of the Trisomy 21 or also known as the Down-syndrome. No, it doesn't mean that I have Down syndrome. (DO I EVEN LOOK LIKE I HAVE IT) Anyway, she also said that if I bear a child with someone who has the same Simian Crease, there's a possibility that my child will inherit the Down syndrome.

(Same.)

But since I am person of in denial about things such as this kind, I decided to google more about the said "crease". And I found out that having one doesn't entirely mean that I'll end up giving a child a very tough life to live, which calmed me down in a way.

According to the article here
The Simian line is when the proximal and distal transverse palm creases (heart and head lines in palmistry terms) intertwine to form one line across the hand. The feelings and emotions (of heart line) are under strong intellectual control (of headline) or vice versa. They may find it hard to distinguish between thoughts and feelings...are they thinking what they're feeling or feeling what they're thinking?....as the two are intertwined and combined. In hand analysis, the key word for this line is "intensity". It can bring single mindedness, "tunnel vision", intense concentration or even obsession in some part of their lives, as they have the ability to put their heart and mind into whatever interests them.
So, *drum combo* that's sorted!! All is well and we need only to hope for whatever is best.

Also, I hope I shared a little bit of knowledge to all you internet citizens.

Circuit Fest 2013

My very first festival...ever
2/2

Let me just express my emotions with a lot of "!!!!!!!!" and "????!!!?!?!?!?!" because Circuit Fest just blew my brains off (not literally).

The day started off quite interesting when I reached Intercontinental Hotel, because my friends: Mariel, Ate Julienne, Kat, Issa and her friend were already at Jeepney having their ritual breadbasket. I was so excited to meet Mariel for the first time ever so *controlled screams!!!!*. Other than that, the five of them were  pointing at someone behind me and saying "Si Leahy, tignan mo. SI LEAHY" my heartbeat literally went faster and I panicked (sort of) deep inside. So I slyly and casually looked around as if searching for someone who isn't Cameron freaking Leahy. My peripheral vision went too far off though, it took me about 30 seconds and two turn-arounds to realise that Cameron was only sitting at the table almost across us. He was still reading Pride and Prejudice with his head down, and his bed hair covering half his face. That didn't stop me from recognizing him though and "hhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggg-ing" a couple of times inside my head.

The girls also told me that they sent Cameron a note if we can take pictures with him after he's done eating. The note ended being folded and set aside. We all thought he ignored our simple request. But to our surprise, as soon as Cameron stood up, he held the small piece of paper in his hand and looked at me (AT ME!!!) with a small smile then asked, "Is this from you guys?" I could only stutter a quipped "yes" and smiled stupidly. Ugh.

Results: Excellent.

Ate J and Mariel got pictures too. And then we had our group pic. I ended up disappearing behind Kat, but it's alright! Cameron's hand was around me the whole time and I felt this much safe. (WEH, CAMILLE)

Mariel finally got her moment with Jordan so Eckong exists! I'm so happy that day. Fiel also arrived just a few minutes after Cameron left and I felt bad about her not meeting Cam. Next time, there will be a next time! *shakes fist* She got to witness David Pavluk's perfection in a hoodie on a hot Saturday morning though. But he walked too fast and my brain functioned too slow. Sigh.

Anyway, all in all we had so much fun!!!
We arrived right after A+ Dropouts' set, I sort of felt bad for not watching them after our M&G encounter. Megan Nicole was awesome too!

Circuit Fest

Circuit Fest

BEST. SET. EVER. Not to be biased or anything but I have never raved so hard in my entire life until then. I just love how Cameron's stage presence could get you jumping and dancing off of your feet. I was honestly dehydrated (and wet) after they finished singing.

(Now I can finally say, "God I'm so wet because of TDF")

Circuit Fest

Circuit Fest

BYE was just surprisingly amazing though, even if I only watched from afar I could still feel the energy radiating from the stage. I felt so proud for Francine! Also Friley happened so I'm very very happy about everything.

Circuit Fest

Cla, Nikki, Fiel, Rian, Kat and I raved so hard during WATIC's set too. Haha, it was so much fun! Plus it started raining so +++++Fun!!

Circuit Fest

Right after Mayday Parade's first song, my Aunt arrived already. I thought I was heading home. But on the way out of the venue, she called and told me to go back in so I can finish the entire set.

Ending: I cried during Oh Well, Oh Well with Kat and Fiel as witnesses. No regrets.

I look forward to more fun times with these people and The Downtown Fiction. I've also realised that I should focus more on myself now and less in concerts. So the following posts in the future might consist of things about my actual life more.

Fancy

These are only a few of the clothes that I would wear in a heartbeat, but due to budget constraints and well...my physical state, I unfortunately am not able to wear these fancy articles of clothing.

But hey, there's nothing to lose in wishing and dreaming. Yeah?

Pre-Circuit Fest

1/2

May 24, 2013

My friend, Kat and I decided to meet up at Starbucks in front of Intercontinental Hotel to ~meet~ the bands with luck and perseverance. Kat arrived there first and was able to witness Before You Exit and Tay Jardine order their coffees for the morning. I, on the other hand, was only able to cross the road and pass by Tay Jardine. I gave her smile and waved. "Hi Tay!" was all I could manage since she was speaking to her bodyguard and I avoided being rude. Anyway, when I got united with Kat, we stayed around Starbucks or a while and we got to witness Jordan, Mike and Cameron from WATIC buy their coffees too.

I was supposed to ask for a picture but I felt rude and "torpe" once again. It's been quite a while since I've stalked and been to a concert, so my socializing-with-band dudes-skills has gone down.

After that, Kat and I went to Intercon and we saw Rian inside! She was able to meet Cameron Leahy (omfg!!!) by then, and I was so happy  for her of course. She even gave him a lotion with a label "Lotions Between Us" which basically made Cam's day. Haha! You go, Ri!

We decided to stay for a while with hopes that we might still be able to meet the bands, although the chances were already slim since there were a lot of fans waiting there already. But the good part hasn't occurred yet! While the bands were all starting to come down one by one, everyone sort of panicked and freaked for a short while. And then there was this dude...

Him (to Rian): Who are they anyway? (referring to The Downtown Fiction)
Rian: They're The Downtown Fiction
Him: Oh, okay. *moves to Rian's friends and asked them too*

- bands started coming down, I lose my chance of having a selfie with Cameron, boys from BYE comes down and....-

Him (the guy who talked to Rian): DEREK SANDERS, OH MY GOD!!1!!!!
Me: WHAT
Kat: WHAT
Rian: WHAT
Rian's friends: WHAT
Everyone in Intercon: WHAT
Other band dudes: WHAT
Toby (from BYE): *waves at us*
The rest of the world: WHAT

Anyway, we ended up eating at Mcdonalds for a while. Kat and I planned to stalk again the next day with Mariel, Ate J, Issa and her friend, and Fiel! Also, I took Rian home with me. It was her first time here and she enjoyed the waterbed (I guess) and MTV. Haha. We waited until 4 pm to go to Market! Market! for our Meet & Greet with The Downtown Fiction. I did meet Cameron after all.

I also finally met Steph! And I was with Ate J, Cla, Rian and Nikki all night too! It was the best ever, man.

But my most favorite part was the Meet & Greets of course! We even got extras since there were only a few people around.

Note: Matching shoes with Lucas Tomlinson *giggles like a mad man*

We are princesses.

(Almost matched outfits with Cameron *screams*)

The Leahy Wives!!!! (Mind you, Fiel is right there!)

See! She's in Davey's hand <3
